Skateology: Fakie hardflip backside 180 with Joe Vizzaccero

A new adidas D Rose silhouettes has touched down known as the adidas D Rose Dominate 2016.
The Dominate silhouette returns for 2016 with a new look in what will be at least two different colorways. The first pair has a Chicago Bulls theme to it as red dominates (no pun intended) the upper in a a quilted textile material with black accents landing on the midsole, side panels, tongue and inner liner. The second pair features a white and grey camouflage upper with red detailing on the branding and heel tab. It’s also important to note that the Dominate 2016 does not feature BOOST cushioning and instead goes with Bounce foam to make them more affordable but still comfortable.
You’ll be able to grab the adidas D Rose Dominate 2016 at select adidas retailers in the near future. In the meantime let us know your thoughts on the silhouette in the comments below.

Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style by W David Marx

It’s well-established by this point that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the world of fashion: in particular, Japanese brands have been doing Americana better than American brands for quite some time. In particular, labels like visvim, Momotaro and NEIGHBORHOOD have seized upon a country-wide admiration of vintage American craftsmanship and style—dubbed Ametora — or “American traditional” in Japanese — and turned it into big business.
Cultural historian W. David Marx’s latest work traces the eponymous concept and the relationship between Japan and America over the past 150 years, from Harajuku’s souvenir sukajan jackets to the shuttle-looms salvaged from American factories that made the name of the Okayama synonymous with high quality selvedge denim. What emerges is an extensive cultural dialogue between Japanese and American fashion, charting the assimilation and integration of American fashion trends into the fabric of Japanese culture, as well as significant counter-flows in the realms of business and economics.
Ametora is available now on Amazon. For an alternative take, there is always the argument that Japan may have run out of American culture to admire and hence imitate. via Hypebeast.com

Nike Air Max 95 Essential "University Red"

Now a year past its celebrated 20th anniversary, the Nike Air Max 95 doesn’t lose steam with this new release under the “Essential” tab.
Electing for a white base contrasted in black, red and grey, though new, this model seems like something we’ve seen before. But don’t let these familiar colors steer you astray, the subtle nature of the shoe doesn’t at all combat its newness and effectiveness, as noted through the mesh and nubuck base married to Visible Air beneath.

Nike Illustrates Kobe Bryant's All-Star Footwear Collection

In his final NBA All-Star appearance, Kobe Bryant received a hero’s sendoff, one filled with visual tributes, speeches and the adoring admiration of his peers. Nike Basketball is also inspired by Bean’s 18th and final All-Star game, and it’s prompted an illustrated tribute to his footwear collection for the game.
Dating back a decade to the Nike Zoom Kobe 1, the past 10 years have seen Bryant lace up in some of the very best All-Star footwear we’ve seen. That continued last night with the latest iteration of the Nike Kobe 11. And while his signature line will continue long past his playing days, it’s still to wonder if All-Star sneakers will be a part of that ongoing process.

THE DELOREAN DMC-12 IS SET FOR A 2017 RETURN

Whether you first fell in love with the car on its own merits or you were introduced to it through Back to the Future, either way, the DeLorean DMC-12 will re-enter production next year. The revived Texas-based DeLorean Motor Company will begin with a limited edition run of the replicas in early 2017 after earning regulatory approval that makes room for 325 replicas per year of models that are at least 25 years old. While the brand shares the old name, this DMC isn't the original, but much of its original vehicle design will be as faithful as possible. The one major change does come with an engine twice as powerful as the initial 130HP V6. via FreshnessMag.com
