If you’ve ever been hit with a bout of fatigue rendering you unable to walk one step more, this new concept was designed precisely to solve that problem. Thought up by product designerWang Yixing, the No. 5065 scooter is a design that can be folded up into a compact tube measuring 50 by 6.5 centimeters, making it the perfect form to be dispensed from a vending machine. Conceived to solve the problem of “last mile” transportation in the city, the scooter can easily be carried in a backpack and can be used to bridge different forms of public transport. While there is no word on availability, here’s to hoping that this product, which was an Honorable Mention at the Red Dot Design Awards, soon becomes a reality. via Hypebeast.com

Vintage Camcorder App for iPhone Distorts Mobile Video
The success of an app is often dependent on the context of time. At this current juncture, digital video has evolved in quality and clarity so much that some creatives have come to prefer the grainy effect of lower-quality cameras. Enter the VHS Camcorder app by Rarevision, which records mobile video in the likeness of old tape recorders. Equal parts tongue-in-cheek and genius-level apt, the app “shoots videos that look and sound like videotape recordings that have been in storage for 30 years,” this according to the brand’s description. Some may shake their heads at the prospect, but if this sounds up your alley, then you can be on your way to a resolution revolution for just $3.99 USD. Love Hulten Wooden Retro Game Boy Emulator Portable Arcade
Maker of retro wooden electronic devices Love Hulten has debuted another two devices that don’t disappoint. The first is the PE358, a Nintendo emulator based on the design of the Game Boy Advance SP, but replaces the traditionally plastic exterior with a rich walnut wood case. Taking design touches from mid-century television sets with the screen’s rounded corners, the PE358 is powered by a Raspberry Pi A+ processor. The second device is the Battlecade (video below), a two-person gaming arcade machine that folds up into what looks like a walnut suitcase. When in use, the two players sit opposite each other as opposed to side by side in a traditional arcade, with the other player’s 12-inch LCD screen and controls hidden from view. Screw-in joysticks and a power adapter are stored away inside a compartment for easy carrying. Unfortunately, neither device is for sale, although they would likely command an eye-watering price if they were. via Hypebeast.com

Star Wars-themed Lands Coming to Disney World
Today at the D23 Expo – an annual event for “ultimate Disney Fans” – and on Twitter, Disney CEO Bob Igner announced that the destination resort and amusement park will be building massive Star Wars-themed lands at their Orlando and Anaheim Parks. With over 7,500 fans in attendance, Iger outlined the plan for a 14 acre-plus Star Wars land, hoping to create “a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single-themed land expansion ever.” Once complete, fans will be taken to a whole new Star Wars planet, including epic scenes that put you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens and a Millennium Falcon ride. Fans will also be joined by humanoids, aliens, and droids with the goal to not “stray” from the original film. While this isn’t the first time Disney parks have had a Star Wars presence, this is something entirely different: allowing fans to enter a galaxy far, far away. No date for the park opening was giving aside from the usual “coming soon,” but you can read more on the official Disney blog. via FreshnessMag.com
