Word of the Day: John 3:16-18
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." - John 3:16-18 (KJV)

Apple Unveils iOS 7
So it's time to address the situation lol. At the WWDC 13' Apple unveiled it latest operating system in the iOS 7.
Let's start with the purpose of this newly redesigned operating system for Apple. The purpose behind iOS 7 is to make things simpler, easier to use, and more enjoyable.
The goal according to Apple is "bring order to complexity". Now I'm not going to go into detail about what this operating system can and can't do but it's no secret that Apple has adopted many of the concepts of Android software to make things much more efficient and easier for consumers.
To make a long story short, I've been with the iPhone for a long time now. If Apple is going to adopt many concepts from Samsung and Android, then it's time for me to go see what the fuss is all about.
Star Wars Brand Wars by Barn Bocock
There are a bunch of these out by Barn Bocock but this was my favorite one. Inspired by the Reebok logo of the past, Star Wars is well represented while keeping the same design o the original Reebok logo.
This is my kind of art work.
Nike NSW - The England Destroyer Varsity Jacket
This Nike Destroyer Jacket exclusive to Niketown London has a very "Fall" season look to it. The deep colors show depth goes along perfect with the theme.
This is Shanghai《这就是上海》
This is amazing. Shanghai is absolutely beautiful. These are the type of videos that make me wanna travel.
I give a big two thumbs up to filmmakers Robert Whitworth and JT Singh for this amazing and insightful look into Shanghai China.

DC Comics x New Era "Nightwing" 59fifty Fitted Baseball Cap
The DC Comics x New Era collab collection hits another home run with this Batman "Nightwing" fitted cap.
The cap is basic and clean. I like the design adaptation and how it's not overly animated or extra when it comes to the design.

Nike Kobe 8 System Elite - Black/Metallic Gold
I haven't been a huge fan of Kobe's Nike releases but I'm definitely digging these. The black and gold color way is what solidifies it for me.
FILA Grant Hill III re-release???
Finally after 19 seasons, Grant Hill retires from the NBA. Grant Hill recently spent his last season with the Clippers and to no one's surprise, he was injured half the season. It was about time that he hang up the pro basketball "sneaks" and call it a career. It's a good thing he didn't sign with the Lakers, we got enough injured old farts as it is, but that's a different story for a different day smh.
After the successful re-release of the GH1, FILA has announced that they will also be re-releasing the GH2 which has left many sneaker heads asking for re-release of the GH3's!!!!! During Grant Hill's prime, I can't think of any other basketball star that made FILA more popular.
The early 90's were good to FILA. I remember my father being dressed from head to toe in FILA gear. Only time will tell if the Grant Hill III's will be re-leased but until then fans can only hope.
G-Star RAW by Marc Newson 2013 Fall/Winter Collection Preview
"Industrial designer Marc Newson and G-Star brings forth another awe-inspiring collection for 2013 fall/winter that merges modern technicality with Japanese denim sensibility. Sprawled across five-pocket denims and bomber jackets, the Japanese denim range sees the use of herringbone selvedge denim in meticulous cut and sew style." - Courtesy of Hypebeast.com
Most people that commented on this post on hype beast.com began to rant and rave about of number of things in which they have a problem with this collection or at least its impending price. Me personally, I like it. The focus on this collection doesn't seem to be the actual design but more of the style, cut, and quality of denim and the jackets.
Trust me, I enjoy my creative graphic style collections but I also have a very strong appreciation for the clean, basic design. So far from what I see from the preview, I like the cut of the varsity jacket most. It looks like heavyweight material but doesn't have a traditional bulky look of a basic varsity jacket. Most jackets that I usually see with this more slim cut are thin are usually don't show up until spring.
Even though I'm giving this collection a lot of credit doesn't mean I don't recognize the obvious. This style is by no means ground breaking and yes, the varsity jacket does have the same slim fit of a Nike Destroyer jacket. The black on black style works better on slim cut varsity jackets in my opinion and surprisingly everybody can't pull off straight black on black.
With that being said, I look forward to seeing what else comes from this collection as we draw closer and closer to more brands releasing their fall/winter 2013 collection previews.
Word of the Day: Psalm 16:7-9
"I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope." - Psalm 16:7-9 (KJV)

Crooks x Monopoly Official Collaboration
It's moves like these that will make Crooks & Castles go down as one of the most unique and successful brands of this modern day street wear era.
Most brands will do collabs with rappers, video game brands, cartoons etc, but a board game??? Arguably the most recognized board game of all time, Monopoly will get a fresh boost in "walking billboard" promotions when people begin to don the gear put out in this collab set.

Vu' Skateboard Shop 5th Year Anniversary!!!!!!!
Vu' Skateboard Shop celebrates their 5th year anniversary Saturday, June 8th at Racers Cafe on Harford rd. Wow, what can I say honestly. Vu Skateboard Shop has been one of the driving inspirations in my life and behind TRDA Brand Clothing.
Vu' Skateboard Shop is and has always been Baltimore's premier skateboard shop and represents what Baltimore street skating is all about. I'm never disappointed when I step foot in the shop. The vibe and atmosphere always encourages me to keep skating no matter how tall I am and no matter how much I fall smh.
Whether its Gary Smith or "Big Daddy V", I always enjoy stopping through and talking skateboarding and different skate spots around Baltimore. Not too mention they always have the freshest and exclusive selection in street/skate wear. They've even expanded their own street/skate wear brand that represents Baltimore street skating to the fullest.
To celebrate five years is a big deal. Most skate shops or small businesses don't last that long and it says a lot about the guys who run the shop and contribute its ongoing success. I plan on stopping past and giving the Vu Skate Shop crew my congrats as they celebrate five successful years.
Now if only I can work up the courage to skate the mini ramp smh.

Kilian Martin: India Within
Killian Martin doing what he does best in India. Simply amazing. This video was filmed by one of my favorite filters/editors out here, Brett Novak. Enjoy
" I Have No Attachments To My Past......."
Just a quote from yours truly. Don't take the quote literally, but instead it means that the things that weighed me down in the past no longer have the influence over me as it once did.
A lot of the things that made me who I was, in all honesty I'm no longer apart of. I feel liberated in a way. In 2010, I started The Real Dwayne Allen.com and it was created for me to open up (something I usually didn't do) and express "the real me".
I've always been into sneakers, art, photography, street wear fashion, video production, comics/super heroes etc. There was always a lot that made me who I am but I held so much in because I was guarded and to myself that nobody else really knew about it but my close circle.
Guys like Fly Fonzarelli, Tony Bonez, Sco Davis III, Smoov Geovanni, Ghost and a handful of others really saw "the real me". I was only "myself" within my circle but I realized that I could only confine "the real me" for so long. I liked me, but I spent I spent so many years chasing hoop dreams that who I was sorta got lost in the shuffle.
So here we are today, three years later. The Real Dwayne Allen.com was part of the process of me getting back to myself and I must say its been a success. I continue to post everything that's me.
