Let's Take em' To War!!!!!!

That's right ladies and gentlemen, the rivalry has been renewed once again and this time things are guaranteed to be different!!! The last time the Boston Celtics met the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals was in 2008 when the Celtics ousted the Lakers in six games with 4-2 advantage. Looking to repeat after 2008, the Boston Celtics struggled in the playoffs against the Orlando Magic due to the absence defensive anchor and emotional team leader Kevin Garnett. Suffering a knee injury earlier in the season, Kevin Garnett was in no shape to contribute the way he wanted to in hopes of repeating a NBA championship. While the Celtics struggled in 2009, the Lakers were geared up with an experienced team and a renewed focus to return to the NBA Finals and take back the top spot which was once theirs. Disposing of the Orlando Magic in five games, the Lakers conquered the 2009 NBA Finals with a commanding 4-1 advantage and returned to the top of mountain. Now with the acquisition of Ron Artest and Kobe more focused than ever before, the Lakers look to get revenge and take one step closer in tying the franchise record of NBA championships with the Boston Celtics at 17 and the L.A. Lakers at 15. If you're having a hard time trying to figure out what I'm saying, I'll say it like this........Los Angeles Lakers 2010 NBA Finals World Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Words of Wisdom: Consequences

In life, we often make decisions and say things that can hurt is us in the long run. There are plenty of things that people have said that they wish they could take back but the fact of the matter is that everything we choose to say or do has a end result or a consequence. All of our actions have consequences whether they're good or bad. So be careful what you do and say because as adults, you will always be held accountable for the decisions you chose to make. Lesson learned.

Ron Artest hits Game Winning Shot at the Buzzer!!!

After a previous ill-advised shot in the last seconds of Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, Ron Artest came up big as Kobe Bryant missed the long three from the corner in the final seconds of the game. The Los Angeles Lakers finished the game 103-101 preventing an overtime period. The Lakers look to close this series out in Game 6 in Phoenix.

After exposing Lebron James and the Cleveland Caveliers for the frauds that they are, the Boston Celtics have rolled into Orlando to continue with their post-season dominance of the Eastern Conference against the Orlando Magic. With one convincing win under their belt in Orlando, the Boston Celtics went into game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals with one goal in mind...........to win. After a 95-93 win in Orlando, the Celtics head back to "beantown" where they look to close out the series with a sweep of the Orlando Magic and head back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2008. Parents Just Don't Understand

Inspired by my god-sister, who happens to be a full blown teenager, I've decided to take a crack at why parents don't understand their children. How many times have you found yourself saying "Pops' tripping, he want me to ask for my bike back, you know I wouldn't trip." Ok, maybe not in those exact words but you get the picture. We've all had moments where we didn't understand why our mom's and dad's or parental figures made us do things or say things that quite honestly we didn't feel like doing or saying. Or maybe it was something we wanted to do and they said no!!! The fact is, parents love us enough to protect us from the poor decisions us young people can make at times. It can be overbearing and suffocating at times but their hearts are usually in the right place. In reverse, parents even though you don't have to answer to your children, at least talk to them about why you make the decisions you make. Once the lines for communication are open, things may change and your child/teenager may be more receptive to the overruling decisions you make. Results may vary lol. "So to all the kids all across the land, there's no need to argue parents just don't understand".

Kobe Bryant better than Lebron James

That's right I said it!!!! Kobe Bryant is a more complete player than Lebron James. Lebron is a freak of nature but every year people give him a different excuse as to why he can't seem to get any NBA jewelry. What's the excuse this year? No team? Injury? Kobe Bryant has a swollen left knee and broken finger. A broken finger!!!!!! Kobe Bryant is the complete player Michael Jordan was back in the 90's when the Chiacago Bulls empire was still in place. Survey says.............Kobe Bryant the real league MVP!!!

King James Gone Fishing!!!!!!!!

After all the speculation that Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were the front runner for this year's NBA title, they have been eliminated by the Boston Celtics in game 6 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals. Boston's attack, led by Kevin Garnett's 22 point performance along with Rajon Rondo's 21 points, and game high 12 assists, spearheaded the onslaught that finally put the Cleveland Cavaliers season to rest. Lebron James' 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists just weren't enough to fend off the balanced attack of the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics will now move on to face the defending Eastern Conference champions, the Orlando Magic.

Dwayne Allen a pastor?

For years people have always said I was like a pastor, or a minister, a deacon or something. Most people say that I speak well or I speak with wisdom and intelligence but in actuality it's never intentional.I've been haunted since the age of 8 of going into some type of ministry because people have always seen a side of me that God has chosen to develop to allow me to affect the lives of others. So will I become a pastor, minister, deacon, reverend etc? Right now I have no intentions to, but you never know. Until then, I will continue to follow the path that God has placed on me.

Air Jordan still on top

Even after retiring officially in 2001 from the Washington Wizards, Michael "Air" Jordan is still the reigning king in basketball shoes and apparel. Now the owner the Charlotte Bobcats, Michael Jordan continues to spear head the Jordan brand division of sneaker juggernaut Nike, with a number of combine packages and re-releases of his most popular shoes. Complete with another full lineup of re-releases set to drop this year including the Retro 2's, Retro 9's, and the Retro 13's the Jordan brand looks to lead Nike into another successful year of complete sneaker domination.

Forgotten Soliders

For years I've watched Maryland forget many of its sons and daughters of the game of basketball. Many top basketball players go on to do great things and have great careers but are often forgotten because of the stumbling boxes they faced in life and in their careers. Majority of these players were at one point touted for greatness but were abandoned after they did not live up to the expectations of the media and all spectators who have a biased opinion about only being successful if one reaches a "Big Six" conference or reaching the NBA. Stories are then fabricated and truths become distorted and people no longer know the truth about many of Maryland's best basketball players and what success they've obtained. Today that is changed. Forgotten Soldiers is a column that will tell the stories of many of the individuals who have fallen victim to this abandonment. It will finally put to rest the false rumors and speak of the truth, the success these various basketball players have had over the years.

Dwyane Wade Leaving Miami?

There has been speculation that the amazing free agent class of 2010 NBA players could shake up the basketball world as we know. With a number of displeased superstars, NBA franchises are on the brink of losing their long time meal tickets to another fledgling franchise with cap room to pay these superstars what they ask for. After a long hard fought season with the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade now faces a decision that could impact a number people including players and NBA executives alike. One of the biggest free agents of the 2010 class, there has been speculation that Wade may make a jump to the New York Knicks along with fellow free agent superstar Lebron James to revive a once historic basketball franchise. There also has been chatter about Wade's new found affiliation with Chicago Bulls Legend Michael "Air" Jordan and his thoughts of returning home to Chicago to bring life back to the Bulls with second year sensation Derrick Rose. Only Time will tell.

On To The Next One

Last night the Los Anegeles Lakers closed out another storied playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 95-94 win. Kobe "The Black Mamba" Bryant exploded with a 32 point, 7 rebound, 3 assist performance while Oklahoma City Thunder star, Kevin Durant finished with a team high 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assist of the game. The game saving performance of the night goes to Los Angeles Lakers All-Star 7-footer Pau Gasol who got the game winning tip in with only 0.5 seconds left on the clock as Kobe Bryant missed his final jumper of the game with 1.08 seconds left in game 6. The Los Angeles Lakers moved on the Western Conference semis to face the Utah Jazz who put the Denver Nuggets championship dreams to rest with a 112-104 win in Utah. Tip off begins Sunday @ 3:30pm ET.
