THIS NIKE SPECIAL FIELD AIR FORCE 1 MID PAYS HOMAGE TO THE CITY OF BALTIMORE

Back in 1984, two years after the original launch of the Air Force 1, Nike had been planning to cease production of the shoe but was ultimately dissuaded from the decision, thanks to its popularity among Baltimore's enthusiastic wearers. Nike is now celebrating the spirit of the city with this upcoming Nike Special Field Air Force 1 Mid "For Baltimore," featuring "B'More" embroidery on the strap, an '84 hangtag and comic-inspired insoles. The shoes are packaged in a special box illustrated by artist Ed Piskor, who also created a comic book showcasing the key players who kept the Air Force 1 in production. The launch date is scheduled for September 30, with the kicks available exclusively at DTLR locations at Mondawmin Mall and Monument Street in Baltimore. via FreshnessMag.com

NIKE REINVENT AN OG FOR NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

Nike are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month by recreating an OG Air Max 1. The DNA of the 1987 model is immediately apparent – with the grey, red and white details exactly where you’d expect them to be – but this iteration sees the OG remixed into a new beast. The red guarding has been striated with lines that resemble the stitched mouth of a sugary calavera, while the grey overlays feature sharp geometric shapes.
The release has been named ‘Los Primeros’ (Spanish for ‘The First’). Though it hasn’t been billed as a colab, it does seem to have been overseen by graphic artist Wasafu, whose name can be found on the heel.
The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Los Primeros’ will be available on September 27 from select Nike accounts. via SneakerFreaker.com

NIKE REVEAL THE LEBRON 15 "Ashes

The dynastic sneaker lineage born of King James continues to expand with the announcement of Nike’s LeBron 15. The shoe is touted as being the most technologically advanced of the player’s career, while the man himself is quoted as saying they’re his favourite to date. The next-gen Flyknit construction has been built with unique areas of strategic stretch that give the shoe an aggressive reptilian look. The cushioning system has also been completely redone, with segmented Zoom Air units included for more flexible motion when combined with the snug fitting upper. via SneakerFreaker.com
