Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher

The partnership between the great Michael Schumacher and Audemars Piguet has not only withstood the former’s devastating skiing accident in 2013, it’s yielded an amazing new chronograph bearing the legendary race car driver’s name. This new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Laptimer was almost five years in the making, featuring a vastly complex movement able to measure and record a series of consecutive lap times. That movement is a hand-wound Manufacture calibre 2923 comprising 413 components with two column wheels and a minimum power reserve of 80 hours. It’s all housed in a 44mm forged carbon case, complete with a titanium bezel, case edges, and case back, as well as an 18-ct rose gold and black ceramic pushpieces. A black rubber strap with a titanium clasp rounds out the details. The watch is limited to 221 pieces and is priced at $229,500 each. via FreshnessMag.com
