1,000 Sneakers by Mathieu Le Maux

1000 Sneakers is a new book by noted collector Mathieu Le Maux, sports editor of French GQ since 2011. Subtitled "Cool and Classic Styles, from Street to Sport," the volume is predicated on the notion that every sneaker has a story, functioning as an encyclopedia that features over 1,000 full-color images of the kicks that have most influenced global sneaker culture. It presents a visual history of the world's most coveted pairs, ranging from vintage icons -- the adidas Jabbar, Puma Clyde, and Nike Air Force 1 -- to lesser heralded classics like the PRO-Keds Royal Master or the Vans Sk8 -Hi. Readers can expect a detailed reference section, histories of leading brands and designers, and anecdotes from the worlds of sports, fashion, hip-hop, and popular culture. Releasing under the Universe Publishing imprint, 1000 Sneakers will release in October. via FreshnessMag.com
