British luxury phone maker Vertu dropped Symbian in favor of Android a year ago, and the newly released Vertu Signature Touch is the first model to feature the sort of specs we expect from a modern flagship mobile phone: 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 running at 2.3Ghz, a 4.7-inch 1080p display, Cat 4 LTE radio, and NFC plus Qi wireless charging. However, performance isn’t necessarily what buyers of the Vertu Signature Touch are looking for, especially in light of the $11,300 price tag. They’re looking for luxury, embodied by a sapphire crystal screen and a grade-5 titanium case with hand-finished calf leather, as well as sound tuned by Bang & Olufsen and a Hasselblad-certified camera.
